A CHALLENGE MET The past year was one of restoration and rebuilding; an opportunity to redefine the future and create an enduring foundation for improvement. Prior to that, the jarring disruption to life caused by the global pandemic resulted in unprecedented circumstances that we were forced to adapt. So adapt we did - to become stronger and more resilient than ever. Most importantly, we achieved this together, as a team united by shared values and aspirations. We’re extremely proud of our collective resolve to succeed as a community of Club Members and Team Members who have remained energized, optimistic, and focused on making the most of the present. We believe that our commitment to excellence and service were key factors which kept The American Club in the game and on solid footing. This is evidenced by the fact that we had 515 new Members and a healthy capital reserve account.
BRINGING THE FUN BACK As restrictions were lifted and the world transitioned to endemic living, the Club brought back a host of exciting in-person events such as Super Sunday Funday and other festive celebrations. F&B favorites such as weekend buffets and Dim Sum lunches at Tradewinds and The 2nd Floor respectively, Grillhouse’s monthly Backyard BBQ, and live screenings at Union Bar were also reinstated. Our Youth team followed suit by hosting an impressive 29 parties within a span of two months, and our Fitness & Leisure team also introduced a slew of new fitness classes in addition to resuming popular staples such as Tennis Socials. WORKING TO MAKE A GOOD CLUB GREAT The Club continues to uphold the highest standards of service by constantly enhancing and upgrading its infrastructure and range of product offerings to provide the best experience for our community of various stakeholders.

Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute Singapore. This is an accolade to be proud of, but we must not rest on our laurels. We are committed to ensuring that Team Members are well taken care of, with initiatives such as Staff Appreciation Day, dedicated mental health support, and enriching events. As we move forward, we continue to keep our eyes firmly on the vision that guides all our efforts - to make The American Club a world-class Club serving a harmonious community; where Team Members become family and Members become friends. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Members, Team Members, General Committee Members and other volunteers, partners, associates, vendors, and contractors for working so tenaciously and passionately as one. Let’s make FY2023 an even more successful year!
The launch of the Club’s brand-newwebsite, which was designed for ease of use, member acquisition and improved Member experience, was one such example. A new and robust Communications strategy was also developed to more effectively engage Members. Other notable initiatives which supported brand equity while cultivating a sense of belonging to the Club were the introduction of the Club’s own cold brew label, house pour wines, and a range of keto and gluten-free pastries. In keeping with our goal to transform the Club into a Grade-A facility, new features were added to The Quad and The Bowling Alley for our young ones, and the Gym was also augmented with cutting-edge fitness equipment. WORLD CLASS CLUB SERVING A HARMONIOUS COMMUNITY At the governance level, we formed a President’s Council of past presidents still residing in Singapore to tap on institutional knowledge. This will become a valuable resource for the future. At the brand leadership level, we initiated the first-ever American Clubs of Asia Summit for Club Presidents to exchange solutions and leverage resources. These brain trusts reinforced the Club’s drive to anticipate and meet the needs of the future, by making significant investments in the areas of technological enablement and sustainability. Two of our parking lots were converted to electric vehicle charging spaces, smart security technologies were installed, and lighting fixtures converted to energy-efficient LED illumination. New features were added to our mobile booking app, TAC Book, and QuickHR, a digitized HR Information System that empowers Team Members to more effectively manage their time, was also implemented.

MESSAGE FROM THE TREASURER
On behalf of the Executive and General Committees, I am delighted to present the Club’s Annual Report for the Financial Year 2022. PANDEMIC AFTERMATH With much of the world ravaged by the aftermath of COVID-19, Singapore’s prudent management of the pandemic ensured that we were able to enter a phase of endemic living fairly quickly. FY2022 is the second year of the pandemic and it brought about its own unique set of challenges. On a global level, threats such as inflation, supply chain disruption, climate change, geopolitical tensions and the war in Ukraine came into play. Locally, businesses had to grapple with energy price hikes, manpower shortages, changes in work pass regulations and rising cost of materials. UNITED WE STAND Strategic planning, continuous innovation, and a culture of collaboration proved essential to our ability to be nimble and adapt to a rapidly shifting environment. The Club achieved an improved gross operating profit of $1.08M before bonuses, compared to $0.34M in FY2021 and added underlying operating cash flow of $3M. At the end of FY2022, the total reserves were at over $30M. Instrumental to this success has been the team’s consistent effort in the areas of food cost control, payroll management, introduction of new
revenue streams while maintaining a high quality of hospitality and service that The American Club Members know and appreciate. The Club’s Management, Team Members, volunteers and partners, stood united in tackling challenges as well as seizing opportunities and this inspired this year’s Annual Report theme - One Club, One Team. RISING TO THE OCCASION Membership led the way towards financial resilience. With a strong brand equity and stellar reputation, the Club continued to attract new Members locally and from abroad, specifically Hong Kong. 515 new Members joined our community, contributing to an overall Membership strength of 3,509. This total is 60 more than the 455 new Members who joined in FY2021 and 151 more than those who joined in FY2015, pre- redevelopment. This increase in new Members helped to generate entrance fees of $5.75 million in FY2022. In June 2021, the Club successfully converted the remaining 12 Members under the Associate Family Transfer Program. In November 2021, the Club admitted 15 slots of Non-transferable Associate Members through an astutely-crafted referral program, resulting in a total entrance fee of $7.45 million for FY2022.

The Food & Beverage (F&B) team traversed the year with tenacity and creativity. The dining and retail outlets showed strong revenue turnaround with usage of 72% for FY2022. Together with The Gourmet Pantry, F&B generated a total revenue of $13.19 million, an improvement of 17% over $11.28 million in FY2021. In the face of changing safety restrictions, inflation, and a daunting manpower shortage, the team revived the Member’s love for the Club’s food by bringing back old favorites and álso created fresh revenue streams through new offerings. New revenue sources came from the introduction of Club-made gourmet products, private label wine, coffee and spirits as well as adapting to food trends like vegan and keto diets. Special events such as Bottle Market and hosting a guest chef from the US were remarkable contributors to the team’s success. Our approach to sustainability has also guided our strategic development and day-to-day operations. Through the adoption and implementation of green features such as electric vehicle charging stations, energy efficient technology, and improved maintenance to increase the lifespan of our equipment, the Club was able to achieve cost savings of $0.7M. CARING FOR OUR PEOPLE Our Team Members are our greatest asset and therefore, creating an environment where they will thrive is core to our culture. The Club upgraded its HR information system to a new mobile-friendly system called QuickHR. This investment alleviated pain points in the HR process and made applying for leaves, claims, rosters, and communication easily accessible to our Team Members wherever they may be. Caring for our TeamMembers’ physical and mental wellbeing is important. FY2022 saw the pilot
test of iSabel, an app that provides resources like video exercises, one-on-one therapy sessions and a hub of information to keep everyone healthy and happy. Among all the challenges, the tight labor market was the hardest to address. To augment the gap in manpower shortage, the Club built partnerships with education institutions to acquire interns under the Work-Study Program. VISTA OF THE FUTURE The journey ahead remains uncertain. Threats on a global and local level will be pervasive and ubiquitous. Having successfully steered the Club through the worst of the pandemic and now dealing with its after-effects while surpassing targets, preserving jobs, rekindling the Members’ affinity with the Club and keeping the Team Members’ morale along the way, I have great faith in our Management Team, Team Members, volunteers and partners that together, there is nothing that we cannot conquer. Finally, to our valued Club Members, thank you so much for supporting your Club so loyally through difficult times and giving us the opportunity to push through and exemplify great resilience. I look forward to working with each and every one of you as FY2023 unfolds.

MEMBERSHIP
Due to its volatile nature, the pandemic proved to be difficult to navigate for many businesses and the Club is no exception. Four years of redevelopment phase and a re-opening that was thwarted by an unprecedented global phenomenon, the Club maneuvered through unchartered territories with much success. The American Club brand and its solid reputation continue to attract potential members from Singapore and abroad. Limited travel, relocation from Hong Kong, steady stream of referrals from existing Members are just some of the factors that contributed to this year’s exceptional membership results. At the end of FY2022, membership strength stood at 3,509 with 515 new Members for the year. This total is 60 more than the 455 new Members who joined in FY2021 and 151 more than those who joined in FY2015, pre-redevelopment. This increase in new Members helped to generate entrance fees of $5.75 million in FY2022.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP, A LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP
The Associate Membership is a category that enables non-US, non-Canadian citizens to avail of a lifetime membership at The American Club. In June 2021, the Club saw the conversion of the remaining 12 eligible Members under the Associate Family Transfer Program. In November 2021, the Club admitted 15 slots of Non-Transferrable Associate Members through a Referral Program launched to our Members, resulting in a total entrance fee of $7.45 million for FY2022.

In March 2022, the Club launched new designs for its membership cards. It contains an RFID chip that allows access to the Club’s main entrance, parking, business center as well as secure the process of signing in guests. The standard membership features a Blue color, while the VIP and Elite are in Gold and Black respectively. Junior Members will carry a Red card and Dependent and Visiting Members are assigned a Green card. The face of the card features the distinct color of each membership category for easy recognition with a stylish ombre effect that represents an exclusive access to a world of privileges at The American Club.

A BRAND-NEW WEBSITE
The Club closed off its 2021/2022 fiscal year with the launch of its brand-new website. The new website launch was timely, as the Club’s old website was in need of an upgrade to better respond to business needs. Designed with our Members, potential members and stakeholders in mind, the new website features a modern design, improved functionality and easy access to key information. To ensure a more user-friendly website experience, the site is faster and organized with an intuitive layout. Streamlined menus, simplified site navigation and enhanced visual imagery makes browsing a breeze. The site is also optimized for mobile devices, giving Members the best user experience possible. The new website also provides an enhanced user experience for our Team Members. The upgraded content management system now allows the Club’s Marketing & Communications end-users to easily manage, optimize and track performance. The Club management, together with the Committees, have worked collaboratively to make the website informative and easy to navigate. Special mention to the Communications Committee for providing guidance on the website redesign process.

In November 2021, the Club embarked on a four-day photoshoot to showcase its wide range of facilities, amenities and services. This involved featuring real Members enjoying what their Club has to offer. The final outcome of the photographs truly captured the essence of The American Club and is proudly used in the Club’s communication channels such as its website and external advertisements.

INCREASED COMMUNICATIONS
During the fiscal year, the Club increased its digital communication touchpoints with the goal of boosting Member engagement and interaction. The Club re-introduced its weekly Fitness & Leisure e-newsletter, and launched Club Buzz, an internal monthly e-newsletter that is circulated to all Team Members to increase employee engagement. With sustainability being one of our key pillars, the Club also introduced The Green Paper, an e-newsletter that focuses on green-related topics and the Club’s green initiatives. These are in addition to the existing e-newsletters that Members look forward to reading:

Apart from introducing new e-newsletters, the team also revamped the content, layout and design of existing ones to make them more engaging and easier to read. This resulted in an increase in open rates across all e-newsletters by at least 80%.

With social media being a powerful communication tool, the Club took steps in October 2021 to formulate a new social media strategy with the goal of boosting its social media presence by reaching a new and wider audience to increase member engagement. Since then, the Club has managed to increase its followers on Facebook by 8%, Instagram by over 26% and Linkedin by 9%.

This fiscal year, the Club made a strategic move to rebrand Rant & Rave to Talk2Us!, in a bid to unify the branding of all of its platforms such as TAC2Go!, Bottles2Go! and Essentials2Go!. The other objective was to increase the Club’s feedback touchpoints – which is evident in the hovering Talk2Us! button that is omni- present throughout the Club’s new website.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR GENERAL COMMITTEE (GC) MEMBERS In March 2022, the Club hosted its inaugural GC Meet & Greet where GC Members shared more about their roles on the GC and answered Members’ frequently asked questions. Members also had the opportunity to engage and interact with the GC Members in an open dialogue session virtually via Zoom.

ELI - THE CLUB’S NEW MASCOT
The Club unveiled its brand-new mascot, Eli the Eagle, towards the end of the fiscal year to much fanfare. Since then, Eli has made multiple appearances at Club-wide events and special appearances at external events. Eli also serves as the Club’s safety ambassador with standees of him holding messages being displayed throughout the clubhouse.

NEW PRODUCTS AND EXPERIENCES
The disruption facing the Food & Beverage (F&B) industry in recent years was a result of fast-changing consumer preferences and behaviors toward food. Consumers were increasingly focused on eating healthier and buying food that is better for the environment. These shifts in consumer behavior prompted the Club’s F&B team to come up with new and innovative ideas to cater to the diverse palates of Club Members. Amongst the numerous innovations that the F&B team concocted in the second half of 2021 was the successful implementation of 240 new menu items across all of the Club’s dining outlets.

During Phase 2 Heightened Alert in July 2021, TAC2Go!, the Club’s F&B delivery and takeaway service saw much higher revenues compared to the Circuit Breaker. This was the result of new and innovative meals such as the classic Roast Chicken Night, American- Chinese Takeout and Fajita Fiesta bundles made available on the platform.

In November 2021, the Club launched Bottle Market, the first of its kind in Singapore since the gradual easing of COVID-19 restrictions. Following Bottle Market, the Club hosted two successful bazaars at The Galbraith Ballroom – one during the festive season and another in Spring 2022. This resulted in an incremental revenue of $48,000.

CENTRAL OFFERINGS
In August 2021, Central launched its very own Cold Brew label and a new range of meat pies in the pantry case. As the vegan and keto diets become increasingly popular, the Club responded by introducing a new range of keto, gluten-free cakes and pastries at Central, as well as updated its smoothie recipes to using healthier ingredients. Central also introduced a total of 67 new types of salads for the salad counter.

GOURMET DINING AT HOME
It was a successful year for The Gourmet Pantry. In September 2021, The Gourmet Pantry launched a range of exclusive ready-to-eat Club-made products ranging from The 2nd Floor’s popular Kurobuta Pork Char Siew to Smoked Brisket and Salsa. During the festive season last year, The Gourmet Pantry was converted into a one- stop retail hub for all things festive, resulting in an increase of $34,000 in sales compared to the previous fiscal year.

In 2022, The Gourmet Pantry launched the Club’s new and exclusive house wines - The Unoaked Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Produced in the vineyards of Southern Australia, the Unoaked Chardonnay is a white wine that displays aromas of peach and citrus with undertones of vanilla and nutmeg, making it a true Chardonnay lover’s delight. Also sourced from the same vineyard, the Cabernet Sauvignon is an earthy red wine that expresses aromas of dark cherry, blood plums and blackberry.

As Safe Management Measures were significantly relaxed in May 2022, the Club welcomed Guest Chef Sean Yontz for a series of three dining events held at Grillhouse and The 2nd Floor to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

MUSIC, GAMES AND DRINKS
Live music and live screenings were re-introduced at Union Bar. To drive sales, the team organized a monthly promotion on premium vintage whiskies. This promotion brought in an additional revenue of $26,900. The team also launched a Whisky Wednesday promotion, selling a rotating list of premium pours at $12 for singles and $20 for doubles. This brought about an incremental revenue of $20,200.

October 2021 saw the return of Tradewind’s all-time favorite weekend buffets and the resumption of large-scale buffet events at The Galbraith Ballroom. The monthly Backyard BBQ at Grillhouse also returned after a two-year hiatus.

RETURN OF AN OLD FAVORITE In response to Members’ feedback, The 2nd Floor re-launched its Saturday Dim Sum Lunch in October 2021, and have served 1,600 covers since then. The 2nd Floor’s Wine Dinners also remained popular among Members, generating over $173,000 in sales through 10 events in FY2022. As part of the Club’s sustainability efforts, the F&B team re-worked the Sunday Brunch event at The 2nd Floor to a much more streamlined and efficient model that resulted in a near-zero wastage outcome.

A STAMP OF APPROVAL
The Club received a re-certification of its HACCP system in this fiscal year, with no major non-compliance issues for a second year in a row. As a result of the outstanding and highly-efficient processes in place, the auditors requested to use the Club’s system as a case study for best practices with their other clients. This is a testament to the quality and effectiveness of the HACCP Program that the F&B team implemented during the previous fiscal year.

FITNESS & LEISURE
PLAYING IT FORWARD WITH EAGLE FUND 2022 Members consider the employees an integral part of the Club’s community. After going on a two-year hiatus, the EAGLE Fund returned this year with an Aquatics Swim-a-thon and Tennis Tournament to help raise funds for the Club’s Team Members in times of emergencies and hardships. The Aquatics team kicked off this year’s EAGLE Fund fundraiser with a Swim-a-thon. 12 teams with a total of 72 swimmers gathered on a sunny Sunday in February to complete their goal of swimming 74 laps per team in under an hour. Members showed their support by sponsoring their favorite swim teams. The event raised $12,935 in total.

This year’s Tennis Tournament was a month-long event which ran from March 1 to April 2, 2022. 27 Doubles teams participated in the tournament and helped raise $10,789 for the EAGLE Fund.

ONE-OF-A-KIND SWIMMING PROGRAM
The American Club is home to the only SwimAmerica program in Southeast Asia, a national learn-to-swim program that is designed and operated by the American Swimming Coaches Association. They are responsible for nurturing one of the most successful sports teams on the planet – the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team. The Club is proud to announce that three Team Members from the Aquatics team – Hariz Zailani, Greg Fasala and Zack Leong were awarded the Director status of the SwimAmerica program in Singapore. This qualification has helped the Club in securing its spot as the premier provider of the SwimAmerica program in Southeast Asia. Through the guidance of our expert coaches and the Club’s stellar swimming program, the Club is also pleased to share that five swimmers from the Senior swim team were accepted into prestigious universities abroad to train at an elite level.

NEW ENERGY, NEW FITNESS PROGRAMS
During the fiscal year, the Gym & Recreation team introduced seven new and exciting Group Fitness classes to expand the existing repertoire. These classes include the popular Les Mills BODYCOMBAT, BODYBALANCE and BODYPUMP programs. Trendy fitness classes such as KpopX, Jazzercise, TRX and Cardio Dance lessons were also added to the weekly class line-up.

In April 2022, the Club welcomed two seasoned tennis professionals into the Tennis coaching team – Jorge Pinilla, Director of Player Development and Marcela Fonseca, Tennis Professional. Jorge served as Tennis Director at the PBI Tennis Academy in Bangalore, India for four years before joining the Club, and has coached players in the ATP, WTA and ITF Junior Circuit. Marcela brings with her over 10 years of experience coaching players across all levels, from beginners to advanced. She has six years of working experience at the US Open and other ATP/WTA tournaments.

TOP OF THE LINE
In keeping up with the latest technology, the Club introduced new and cutting- edge fitness equipment in the Gym. One such equipment is the CRU TV Bike, which not only functions as a spin bike, but also provides other immersive fitness content ranging from boxing, HIIT to yoga and meditation. A new strength and endurance training machine, called the Concept2 SkiErg was also installed at the Gym at the end of the fiscal year. This machine not only helps with building strength, but is also suitable for adaptive athletes and injury rehabilitation.

UPGRADING THE CLUB’S BOOKING APP
In the beginning of 2022, the Club revamped JOGA, its mobile booking app, to The American Club Booking app or TAC Book for short. The rebranding came with enhanced app functionalities, such as allowing Members to manage bookings across all fitness & leisure activities and pre-purchase fitness packages. Members are also able to use the app to book classes and facilities such as Youth classes and Thinkspace’s meeting rooms, get notifications for enrolled classes and receive exclusive event invitations.

ALL ABOUT WELLNESS
The spa experience has gone beyond pampering. In times of stress, the need to look after one’s own well- being has become more important than ever.
In 2021, sên Spa welcomed seasonal practitioners and guest therapists specializing in treatments that facilitate healing, holistic wellness and self-improvement. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Therapist, Colin Lim, was invited to the Spa to provide speciality TCM treatments from November to December 2021. His treatments – Tui Na Massage, Sports Massage and Lymphatic Draining Massage helped Members with sports injury rehabilitation, manage back pain and lymphatic drainage.

All-time-favorite guest therapist from California, Julian Eymann, also made a comeback to the Spa after a two-year hiatus. His unique style of deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy helped Members alleviate aches, neck pain, frozen shoulders, lower back pain and sciatic nerve issues.

CONTINUOUS LEARNING
The Massage Therapist team received an updated training manual to streamline and achieve consistency in the delivery of treatments to Members. Such trainings allow the Club’s Team Members to stay relevant with new design trends and improve their skills and techniques, thereby enhancing the Member experience at the Spa.
In September 2021, the Club’s Hair Technicians received an exclusive invitation to the Aveda Congress 2021 – one of the most anticipated beauty industry event of the year. There, the Hair Technicians had the opportunity to attend guest artist presentations and artist-led technical workshops to enhance their knowledge and skills in all things hair. In May 2022, the Nail Technician team attended training sessions by The Gel Bottle ahead of the brand launch at the Spa. The sessions focused on product knowledge and creative nail designs.

YOUTH & BOWLING
YOUTH PROGRAMS DURING THE PANDEMIC
The first half of the fiscal year – from July to December, 2021 – was marred with strict Safe Management Measures which affected the registration numbers for majority of the Youth programs. For the second half of the fiscal year - from January to June, 2022 - only a limited number of Youth programs were available for registration due to manpower issues. The easing of travel restrictions, which allowed for leisure travels overseas, also had an impact on registration numbers.
GETTING THE PARTY STARTED Youth parties were on hiatus up until May 2022 due to strict Safe Management Measures on social distancing and capacity limits. However, since the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions and with F&B services being re- instated at The Bowling Alley in May 2022, the Youth team managed to host a whopping 29 parties over a two-month period.

YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY
Earlier this year, the Wallholla playground at The Quad underwent a routine check and had its rope structures further fortified to ensure the safety of all of its users. All of the timber floors in The Quad Studios were also replaced with Extreme Sports Performance rubber flooring that are more slip resistant, long-lasting and easier to maintain.

FACILITIES & CONCIERGE
TOWARDS A GREENER CLUB
Sustainability has long been a key pillar of the Club’s operations. Through careful planning and effective management, the Club was able to achieve approximately $782,000 in energy cost savings by introducing new energy efficient initiatives and building on existing ones. After converting all of the light fixtures in the Car Park to energy-saving LED lights, the Club is proud to say that it has successfully optimized the entire clubhouse’s lighting system. In addition, all of the lights in the Squash courts have been replaced to more reliable LED tubes, resulting in better lighting and higher cost savings.

To respond to the rising number of electric vehicles on Singapore’s roads, the Club installed two Electric Vehicle Chargers at the Level 1 Car Park. The Air Handling Unit at The 2nd Floor’s kitchen has also been replaced with a more efficient unit, resulting in a 20% increase in efficiency. By ensuring that the Club’s heavy equipment and spare parts were well maintained throughout the year, it eliminated the need for new purchases and repairs, thereby achieving cost savings of $316,900. The cancellation of print magazine subscriptions and rebates from broadcasters also yielded savings of $254,500.

SAFETY AND HYGIENCE POWERED BY TECHNOLOGY
In safeguarding the community against COVID-19 infections, Team Members from the Housekeeping Team successfully completed a course on Environmental Infection Control and Management. This allowed the Club to conduct in-house disinfection and sanitization without the need to outsource this service to external vendors, reducing cost by $25,000 per activation. This fiscal year, the Club invested in smart security technologies to increase the level of security around the clubhouse and reduce dependence on guarding manpower, thereby increasing cost efficiencies. Cameras with remote-viewing capabilities were installed at the Squash and Tennis courts for enhanced safety monitoring. Futhermore, the adoption of a self-sustaining model for power shutdown exercises resulted in cost savings of $3,500 per activation. In addition, the implementation of Ride-on Scrubbers used for cleaning the Club’s common walkways and corridors helped to significantly reduce water and manpower required by two man-hours per cleaning location per day.

CULTIVATING A SAFETY-FIRST CULTURE
The Club successfully renewed its BizSafe Level 3 Certification in April 2022. The certification is a nationally recognized Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) program that includes measures to manage potential terror threats. This means that the Club is recognized by authorities for having a comprehensive WSH system in place. The Club also reported zero major incidents and injuries in this fiscal year. In 2022, the Club successfully completed its remaining modifications and upgrading works required to obtain the Fire Safety Certificate. This included the integration of the Public Announcement System, installation of fire separation walls at Staircase 3, Level 1 and B1, replacement of fire doors at Staircase 1, 2 and 5, installation of a glass sliding door at Essentials and additional dry risers and hose reel at Staircase 5.

It is also of paramount importance that Team Members are well-prepared to respond correctly and swiftly to emergency situations. Steps that the Club has taken to ensure this include conducting practical fire extinguishing exercises, fire evacuation exercises and safety drills on a regular basis.

Safety doesn’t begin and end with physical health, but extends to mental health as well. Team Wellness, an employee wellness program, was formed in the beginning of the fiscal year with the goal of enhancing the health and wellbeing of the Club’s Team Members. It also builds camaraderie through initiatives such as fitness activities, health talks and screenings, and mental wellness programs.
To date, Team Wellness has conducted:
• 34 fitness sessions • 11 health talks on physical and mental wellbeing • 2 safety and security workshops by the Singapore Police Force • 2 special WSH events • 1 successful health screening

IMPROVING PROCESSES THROUGH TECHNOLOGY
In the beginning of 2022, the Club launched QuickHR, a new mobile-friendly HR Information System that gives Team Members the convenience of applying for leave, claims and viewing of pay slips and rosters on their mobile phone from anywhere, at anytime.
In September 2021, the Club launched the AIA eBenefits mobile app for its Team Members. This app allows Team Members to have easy access to tele-doctors at their own convenience and have medication delivered right to their door step. Other features include submitting and managing medical claims with ease.

In January 2022, the Club was recognized as a Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute Singapore. This certification reflects the culture and values that the Club is built on – its dedication to putting its Team Members first.

In championing a fair, diverse and inclusive workplace, the Club introduced numerous initiatives such as a collaboration with the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN) to provide support, training and job placement opportunities for APSN’s students and trainees.
Apart from this, the Club is also a participant of the Senior Worker Early Adopter Grant (SWEAG) and the Part Time Re-employment Grant (PTRG), and an adopter of the Tripartite Standard on Age-friendly Workplace Practices (TS-AWP). With this, the Club recently implemented a higher internal retirement and re-employment age of 65 and 70 respectively, ahead of legislative schedule. With these initiatives in place, it serves as a good example of how the Club supports the strengths of a multi-generational workforce where senior Team Members will play an active role in mentoring their younger co-workers.

CARING FOR OUR TEAM MEMBERS
Today, employee wellbeing has expanded beyond physical wellbeing to focus on building a culture of holistic wellbeing including physical, mental, emotional, financial and social. As such, the Club has introduced several initiatives to ensure that the welfare of its most prized possession – the Club’s Team Members – are well taken care of. Once a month on Team Member Appreciation Day, Team Members are treated to sweet and savory snacks such as churros, gelato, coconut shakes and local delights.
To provide mental health support to Team Members, the Club launched a new wellness initiative via iSabel, an app that provides easy access to mental wellness resources such as connecting to certified counselors for one-on-one therapy sessions, informative video content, and accessing discounts on products and services offered through the app.

Management continued to practice financial prudence and responded proactively with various initiatives to mitigate the impact from the ongoing global pandemic: 1) Food & beverage promotions, including TAC2Go! services with bundled meals and festive takeaways; 2) Alternative source of supplies to better manage price increases; 3) Vigorous headcount and payroll management measures; 4) Stringent operating cost control via contract management review, tenders and negotiations.

These efforts helped to improve the Gross Operating Profit before bonuses from $0.34 million in FY2021 to $1.08 million in FY2022.
In July 2021, the Singapore government extended the enhanced Jobs Support Scheme to support wages paid to the local workforce when Singapore returned to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) and announced the Rental Support Scheme. The Club received a total of $1.61 million worth of government subsidies in FY2022. As Singapore transitioned towards living with COVID-19 from March 29, 2022 and with the re-opening of borders with Malaysia, the Club faced tremendous challenges in the hiring of service staff to support our offerings and programs in food & beverage, fitness & leisure, sen spa and youth activities. In May 2022, the General Committee approved a special Appreciation Payment of $800 per eligible Team Member. This was paid out in June 2022.
In August 2022, the General Committee approved an aggregate bonus of $1.81 million for FY2022, payable to eligible Team Members of all levels, resulting in a GOP loss after bonuses of $0.73 million, compared to a loss of $1.16 million in FY2021 (an improvement of $0.43 million).

Entrance fee income from new joiners grew by 10% during the year which after offsetting capex spend of S$1.64 million and reduced operating loss of $0.73 million, generated underlying cash flow of $3.03 million for FY2022. This helped the Club maintained Total Reserves of $30.69 million at the end of FY2022, a healthy position this early in the building development cycle.

OPERATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
With the easing of Safe Management Measures from March 29, 2022, the Club saw a strong recovery in the last quarter of FY2022, closing the Total Club Income gap in the first nine months. Overall, the Club generated a Total Income (Operating Fund) of
$33.87 million in FY2022, an increase of $1.83 million over FY2021 of $32.04 million.

Riding on the strong interest from the potential members in FY2021 as well as the Hong Kong fallout due to their Zero COVID-19 Policy, the Club attracted a total of 515 new Members in FY2022. This total is 60 more than the 455 new Members who joined in FY2021 and 151 more than those who joined in FY2015, pre-redevelopment. This increase in new Members helped to generate entrance fees of $5.75 million in FY2022. Additionally, The Club successfully converted the remaining 12 members under the Associate Family Transfer promotion and admitted 15 limited release of Non- transferable Associate Members, bringing the total entrance fees in FY2022 to $7.45 million.
