BLOOD AND BANDAGES BY ELIZABETH COWARD AND WILLIAM EARL

War changes everyone, and for those lucky enough to survive, there can be no return to the carefree days before the hell of war broke out. Initially attached to the British Eight Army, William Earl saw action on the front line in North Africa before joining the 5 th Anglo-American

Army for the invasion of Italy. William and his comrades were unarmed non-combatants, yet they were among the first to land at Salerno, were sent to the bloodbath at Anzio and survived the pitiless Gothic Line. For three years, William served tirelessly, waiting for the day when peace would come and he could return to his soul mate, Mary and their young son, David. Blood and Bandages is the compelling story of William’s fight to save life amid the horrors of war and his enduring love for his young wife.
