ON THE HORIZON We are thrilled to let you know of our upcoming plans in 2020. First, we intend to continually provide a wider net of “healthy” food options around The Club in line with feedback we received from the survey. This might be in the form of offering more vegetarian or plant-based side options (in lieu of French fries), bringing back the salad bowls at Central, reinstating our Meatless Mondays program, growing a garden, using alternative methods of cooking with healthier better quality ingredients, providing more keto-friendly, low-carb and high protein food packs, wraps and dishes. Keep looking out for these changes! Second, the HEAL Subcommittee discussed and identified some of the most relevant topics trending in the areas of health, wellness and allergies and thought members would find it both informative and interesting to learn more about them. Starting in February 2020, HEAL will host a Speaker Series with various subject matter experts, the first event with Dr. Steven Tucker discussing Nutrition 101 (more on page 3). Throughout the year, we will also cover a variety of topics including Gluten, Celiac Disease, Low Carb, Keto, Gut Health, and Child Health and Nutrition. True to our charter, HEAL does not advocate any one diet over another. We intend to not only bring a well-rounded perspective to members but also help to provide a blue print for Members to proactively take charge of their health, customized to their individual needs. We also plan to collaborate across the various TAC

communities and committees whose interests may overlap with ours – the Gym andYouth & Family to a name a few. Health, wellness and food cross over into so many areas. We’ve already provided healthy recipes to Youth & Family for the Stars n’ Stripes kids camps and we also intend to work with the Gym committee to help customize menus and food ordering for those wanting to combine diet and exercise. We would like to provide innovative programs for Members that holistically address their needs. Finally, we plan to host a farmer’s market (or hopefully several!) at TAC, bringing the latest local food purveyors in Singapore right to our doorstep. Given Singapore’s latest ‘30 by 30’ initiative which aims to have Singapore become 30% self-sufficient in food production by 2030, this is a tremendously vibrant and rapidly growing community. It is exciting to see the local produce, foods and artisanal products offered in Singapore and it feels great to support local producers and connect back to the local communities. We hope our farmer’s market will be fun for novices, foodies and the entire family. COMMUNITY BUILDING AND CONTINUOUS FEEDBACK We really do believe that there is a passionate group of members at TAC interested in what HEAL is doing and we want to continue to nurture and grow this community. We loved getting comments from Members via the survey and encourage Members to keep the ideas coming. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please email HEAL at info@amclub.org.sg with “Suggestions to HEAL” in the subject line. Thanks again for being a part of our movement at TAC!
