HERE ARE SOME OF THE GREEN GOALS SUBMITTED BY OUR MEMBERS

“As a teacher, my green goal is to have students bring in snacks that do not require any type of plastic packaging. That means encouraging them to either prepare their own snacks and pack them in boxes, or purchase snacks with eco-friendly packaging.” – Claudia Kimura “We pledge to eliminate 80% of single use plastic by carrying water in a reusable water bottle and using wax paper instead of plastic wrap to cover food.We will reduce our carbon footprint by planting 100 trees as part of a reforestation campaign and using ceiling fan instead of the AC at night.” – John Diener and family “I commit to taking faster showers at The Club, bring my own mug and containers and use fewer paper towels in the toilets.” – Yeoh Yung Juen “I commit to reducing the carbon footprint of my household. Starting with bringing our own carriers and containers whenever we visit markets and food courts. I have been practicing this when I bring my coffee mug to Central for my daily brew. We also want make sure of proper recycling of the stuff we are disposing. We want a better environment for our future generation. Thank you for doing this.” – Yeo Siah Meng

“I commit to less plastic pollution, whether it’s remembering to carry our reusable shopping bags, and to not buy single use plastics. I’d also like to keep clothing purchases to a minimum and to try to source second hand items if needed. I’m sure my husband will love that idea the most!” – Samantha Van Norman “We are making effort to stop the use of single use plastic in our lives – specifically around school lunches and disposable eating containers. We are also focused on keeping the beaches clean by participating in efforts around Singapore.” – Norah Rahamim “I commit to never forgetting my shopping bags, taking my own cutlery and dishware to hawker centers, setting my air conditioning one degree higher at home and buying pre- owned clothes and shoes for myself and my kids.” – Joanna Whitley
