We are thrilled to confirm our program’s first guest Chef, Justin Quek – Principal Chef of Sky on 57 at Marina Bay Sands.
One of Asia’s most internationally-recognized chefs, Quek is famed for his expertise in French fine dining and his deep understanding of Asian cuisine. As the leading chef in the region, he has served numerous politicians and dignitaries such as former Chinese president Jia Zemin and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. He also famously cooked for all of Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s birthday dinners since 1993. In 1994, Quek and his business partners started Singapore’s pioneer independent French fine dining restaurant Les Amis. The restaurant swiftly gained accolades from an international audience and put Singapore on the global gastronomic map. In 2010, Quek – alongside other international celebrity chefs such as Tetsuya Wakuda, Wolfgang Puck, and Daniel Boulud – was invited by Marina Bay Sands to open the 240- seat fine dining restaurant Sky on 57. Here, Quek marries South East Asian ingredients with European influences to create new signature dishes. Quek’s impressive accolades include: • 2001 – Best Chef of the Year at the inaugural World Gourmet Summit Awards • 2003 & 2004 – San Pellegrino Chef of the Year • 2004 – Lifetime Achievement Award at the 8th Annual New World Food and Wine Festival • 2005 – At-Sunrice GlobalChef Award • 2009 – World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence Hall of Fame for Best Chef Chef Quek will showcase his creations in an exclusive wine dinner at The 2 nd Floor on Saturday, October 8. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet and savor the Franco-Asian cuisine of our inaugural Distinguished Guest Chef.
