THE AQUATICS TEAM HEADS TO BATAM Summer is when most Members take advantage of school break and make their way to a holiday destination. For the Aquatics team, this a quiet time of the year and the team decided that some bonding was on the agenda. Other than enjoying the sights and sounds of the fantastic Indonesian island, the team thought it would also be a great oppor tunity to give back to the local community. Although this is not an official Club-endorsed Corporate Social Responsibility event, word got around The Club and fellow TAC staff and some Club Members generously offered to donate to this wor thy cause. In a little under two weeks, the team raised $761 which went straight to purchasing pencils, coloring books, board games and backpacks. The team arrived in Batam and went straight to KFC for 20 kids’ meals, then to the orphanage to meet the kids. It was a great surprise and the kids were ecstatic as they rarely get to eat fast food and were excited to receive a goodie bag each. Giving back at the star t of the trip set the tone for a very rewarding and fun weekend!
