FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

of the Central Production Kitchen, workflow processes back of house will also improve.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the month of March marks the beginning of spring. It is a season signifying renewal, rebirth, and rejuvenation which makes it particularly fitting that it also marks the final stages of The Club’s redevelopment. The ongoing construction over the past two years brought many inconveniences for Members and staff alike, and together we faced the challenges that accompanied this process and now look to the future of our Club with hope and excitement. As Anne Bradstreet, one of my favorite poets, said more than 350 years ago, “If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.” Fortunately, spring is here, and while there will still be some trying moments ahead as there are with any new endeavor, with the opening of our latest outlet, The Quad, family fun has not merely been rejuvenated, it has been elevated to a whole new level. The Youth and Family Committee in partnership with Club members and the Youth Team spent countless hours creating a space that would delight everyone from our youngest Members to those that are young at heart. Featuring a vertical playground, professional ping pong, air hockey, and foosball tables, virtual reality games, a brand new American version Mario Kart game, an interactive stage area, the only four-player Pacman arcade game in Singapore, and the most adorable playhouse I’ve ever seen, The Quad is sure to provide hours of entertainment for your whole family. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by The Quad yet, be sure to pop in the next time you are at The Club. Speaking of new places to stop by at The Club, over the next several weeks the Lobby and Tradewinds, our new all-day dining restaurant, are slated for handover. Although it may take some time after that process for the F&B team and the Social and Dining Committee to put the final touches on these spaces, as these areas open it will be more comfortable for Members to move through The Club and easier for Members to find quiet areas to recharge and relax. I know that I can't wait! In addition, with the opening

As we look forward to these improvements and the completion of redevelopment, I would like to ask each of you to please continue practicing respect and patience with one another, and with our staff, while we adjust to the new spaces. Accepting and respecting our unique differences, presuming good intentions, and treating each other with kindness goes a long way towards creating a vibrant, welcoming home away from home environment and maintaining our community culture which is one defined by our generosity of spirit. I am so proud of our community culture, and I see the beauty of it demonstrated every day when I look around The Club. Not only is it an ethos that our Members embody, but our staff does as well. Despite service disruptions and a reduced operational footprint during redevelopment, our staff’s commitment to service excellence and enhancing our Members’ overall experience at the Club has never faltered. A departing Member recently acknowledged this dedication and shared her appreciation for the extraordinary care shown by our staff to our Members by penning a heartfelt farewell message to “all the wonderful (staff)" for their ever ready smiles and for making “the atmosphere of kindness happen.” Our fellow Member's comments brought a feeling of warmth to my heart, and the idea of cultivating an atmosphere of collaboration and kindness is one that I now think about each day when I wake up and get ready to head to The Club. As we join together to create a bright future for our Club community and in this season of new beginnings, I look forward to celebrating our successes and our community culture while we work towards solving our challenges together.

Warmest regards,

Dana Hvide
