STAFF FEATURE

2018 looks to be a year of transformation – our new clubhouse at Scotts Road is near completion, and we have also welcomed several new faces to lead our teams during this time of change. Read on to find out more about our new Events, Spa and Thinkspace Managers! Say TO OUR NEW MANAGERS! I started my career in the events industry 6 years ago and have never looked back since. I’ve tried my hand at different kinds of events but found myself most partial to F&B. Food is a universal language. Whether you’re an American, Singaporean or any other nationality, food is the common tongue we speak. I love that we can use food to shape an event and leave our Members with treasured memories! Now that redevelopment is in full swing, how do you plan to deliver even more engaging and rewarding events for Members? It is indeed a challenging phase for the Events department – how can we hold events with limited space? We’ve worked hard to find creative ways to utilize our existing spaces, such as the Lobby for fringe events. Look out for our upcoming Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day offerings… What is something that most people do not expect from your role? I may look effortlessly put-together all the time, but it isn’t always effortless! At my previous job, staying back till 3:00 a.m. for an event setup and then heading back to work at 9:00 a.m. the next day for 15 hours of duty isn’t something I’ll bat an eyelid about. My mantra is that to lead an event, ELIZABETH CHIA | Events & Catering Manager What drew you to this line of work?

Did you know? Eliz is a returning staff! She served as Events Executive from 2013 to 2015 and returned as Events Manager in December last year.
