RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME On Tuesday, September 20, 2016, The Club encountered a near-drowning incident at Bukit Merah Lifestyle Complex. Our long-time life guard Rodel heard some yelling in the 50m pool but thought nothing of it, until two teachers from the ISS International School pulled their student, a boy of approximately 14 years old who had lost consciousness, from the pool. Rodel rushed over and attempted to keep him alert, while Aquatics Manager Elspeth and lifeguard Benneton got the oxygen mask and automated external defibrillator in case it was needed. The ambulance had arrived and our team managed to give the crew valuable information before the victim was sent to the hospital. We are pleased to announce that he regained consciousness in the hospital despite having some water in his lungs and is expected to make a full recovery. Kudos to our capable team!
